So I manage a group of seven people at the moment. The other day one of the more emotionally unstable people on the team comes to me and feels the need to lay out the problems she has with me; one of which is I don't say Good Morning every time I come in.

I can't believe we're having a discussion about this.

Me saying Good Morning every morning is similar to saying 'I love you', not because you mean it, but it's the thing to do. 

I get it though: Not saying Good Morning can be seen as impolite, but if we get along in every other capacity, why does it matter? What weight does this, in my opinion, empty greeting hold. We're co-workers. I reiterate; why does it matter? I don't even say Good Morning to friends and family everyday. My greetings are as follows:

'Hey'

'Yo'

'What's up'

'Sup'

Sup, bitch'

'Merry Christmas'

Maybe I'm a robot and I just don't get people. If I am I want to be cool like the Terminator...

Or Vicky from Small Wonder

But my name would be Vick because I'm no chick robot. The frilly apron can stay though.

Ahem.

Anyway, so now I'm in a position where I have to say Good Morning. Does the gesture mean anything when you know I'm only saying it because I feel I have to now? It's a sad thing when something so trivial can divide people, but I'll play my part in this farce.

Andre: Sup, Bitch.

So here I am, back to blogging. Oh joy... another thing I can't seem to do consistently. Screw it, let's try once more. I have another blog I'll be resurrecting soon, but themindofdre is my baby. A neglected baby, but my baby no less.

MUSIC: My 'album' is almost done. I feel like a douche calling it an album, but I'm too lazy to think of a more appropriate word. It's called Calendar Theory and contains themes from my life spanning 2007-2008 (excluding one song which is based on 2009). Yes, some of my songs are very short. Yes, the mixing quality isnt the best. Yes, I put my heart into this one. It'll be posted soon. I promise. Seriously! Only 2 songs left to record. Hiphop fans should like this one.

BOOK: Er... OK so I was writing pretty heavily for a while and then I stopped. Why? Because chicks can distract you in the damnedest ways. Ehem... Anyway, I was hoping my book would be done by December. I doubt that'll happen so let's shoot for the first half of 2010. That's just vague enough to work. Deal? Deal.

That's all I have for now. I'm lacking a little thing called visitors so I'm mostly writing this for myself. Talking to yourself is one thing, but blogging to yourself takes a special type of nerd who needs to be medicated. And lunch money because it was probably stolen from a neighborhood bully. I sure am hungry...
